Hi!
I've been blogging for a few years now, but I've been on Homeschool blogger. I decided to freshen things up and switch to Blogger, and so far I love it :)
For my first post, I'm going to blog on American Idol.
Okay, so last week, we lost Pia. I think she should have stayed longer, but I really don't think she would have won. Besides...she's already been signed by Jimmy, the AI mentor. I think she'll be fine. Whoa, what was up with the intense opening? They must be trying to make us feel guilty about sending Pia home. I feel sorry for Stefano...he obviously felt terrible about staying when Pia left.
Aww, J. Lo is the most beautiful woman. It's official, apparently!
Paul: "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll" Okay, he has two of those suits? Apparently so. It's so funny watching him dance around the stage! His voice is awesome. He took over the stage, as usual. My mom said he reminds her of my brother with the lanky legs.
Lauren Alaina: "The Climb" I cringed when I heard what song she was singing...but she nailed it. 10 times better than Miley Cyrus. My mom was crying at the end of the song :') Uh, Steven Tyler? Moved you beyond tears? How poetic.
Stefano: "End of the Road" I thought it started out pretty-but-verging-on-boring. When he started hitting those high notes, though, it was awesome. I think he did really well. My mom thought it was very pretty.
Scotty: "Cross My Heart" Ahhh... I'll be honest, I have a little bit of a crush on Scotty. His voice makes my heart melt slightly. It wasn't his best, though, nothing compared to last week.
Casey: "Nature Boy...wait...In the Air Tonight. No, Nature Boy" He sounded kinda evil...but it was entertaining. He's very talented. Casey, please don't pass out again. Okay he's fine. But yes, good job.
Hayley: "Call Me" Yikes, her dress is too short. It was a little pitchy on the slower/lower parts, but she did great on the "CALL ME!" part. Definitely not her best performance, though.
Jacob: "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" He's a great singer (aren't they all?) and I love his song choice. OHH those last notes were outstanding!! GO JACOB!
James: "Heavy Metal" My mom's first reaction was "Scary man on the guitar! Oh...his beard is braided. His beard is braided...ack!" Yeah he was kinda frightening. James can definitely sing (or scream on pitch) but it's just not really my style.
Well, a few of them rebelled against Jimmy and Will's instructions, but I think it worked out alright for all of them.
Favorites, Madre: "I think they all did good. I would be a terrible judge. But Lauren, Scotty, and Paul are my favorites."
Going home, Madre: "My least favorite was James, because I don't do rock music. And I didn't love Hayley."
Favorites, me: I love Scotty, even though it wasn't his best night. I'm rooting for Lauren and Paul, but I'm not sure if Lauren is going to make it through this week.
Going home, me: There's just no telling. We have Paul, an acoustic, coffee house-y singer; Lauren and Scotty, country singers; Stefano, a pop singer; Casey and Hayley, jazz singers; Jacob, a soulful singer; and James, a heavy-metal-rock-'n'-roll singer. I guess we'll see tomorrow night.
That concludes my first post on Blogger. :)

Jelly legs went home. AKA by Aunt Deb "Elf on the Shelf."
Sniffle.
Hey! I was so upset that Pia and Casey went home! GRRRR! They were my absolute favorites. I used to like Jacob but he was my least favorite this week and I was glad he went home. I hope it is Haley next and I hope that James wins it all :-). I really really dislike Scotty sorry! I like his personality but I am anti-country, you could say :). But I do own 1 Carrie Underwood song - does that count as country??
